Carley Nelson

I’m the co-founder of Milestone FitLife, a personal trainer, group fitness instructor and proud mum of 3 gorgeous girls.

I love to see people change their lives for the better, through encouraging a long-lasting healthy & happy relationship with fitness. I know from experience that a simple smile can go a long way, which is why I help you to find your fitness with a smile (even if it’s at the end of your session once you are stretching!)

All my clients have different fitness goals and motivations. I help each of them to experience success through personalised, realistic, sustainable changes of habits.

My priority is making sure you enjoy the journey while we work towards each of your milestones.

I became part of the fitness industry at 17 and have never left - working in corporate gyms, opening my own home PT business, and now co-owning Milestone FitLife with Carley.

As a mum of 4, I know what it's like to have to juggle fitness with family life.  Some days it works, some days it doesn't - which is why a supportive environment is key to finding your fitness. I also know what it’s like to experience body trauma and to have to reset goals and learn new techniques to make my body fully functional again. Pilates was key to my recovery and if you can relate, I’d encourage you to come along to one of our classes to experience the rehabilitating benefits for yourself.

I strongly believe in developing healthy relationships with fitness and lifestyle goals, with an emphasis on what your body CAN do rather than what you think it should do.

Specialising in mat work, as well as pre & postnatal Pilates, I’m currently studying several Pilates apparatus courses that I can’t wait to implement into my classes and 1:1 training sessions.

As Joseph Pilates once said: ‘Every moment of our life can be the beginning of great things.’ Helping people to reach their optimal health, through core stability, strength and improved muscle tone is the reason I love teaching Pilates so much.

With an insatiable passion for fashion and travel, when I’m not teaching Pilates, you’ll find me exploring and relishing the opportunity to get dressed up!

Born and bred in Leongatha, I’m a stickler for technique making sure clients always carry the correct posture when lifting weights and performing exercises of any sort.

I enjoy most exercise but it's no secret that strength training is my favourite! I like to empower people through lifting weights, surprising themselves as they see their own strength grow. Strength training is great for all ages, genders and abilities to ensure strong muscles, bones and bodies. With the right technique, posture and assistance, anyone can find that dumbbells and barbells can be their friends too!

With a focus on finding the right fit for your strength training needs, I can help you get the most benefit out of your session, so you can reach your milestones.

I’m a fitness professional who loves helping people to get fit and lead healthy lives. The best part about the  fitness industry is the variety of options - there are so many different workouts to try!

My favourite sessions include body weight resistance exercises and HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training). When I train my clients, I like to push them outside their comfort zone and show them what they can really do!

Originally from New Zealand, I have been living in Australia for 11 years now, and I absolutely love it. As an active mum, I see how important it is to set a healthy example to my children - who really enjoy joining me at MFL classes.

With 6 years teaching experience in Vinyasa, Yin, Post Natal, Restorative and Yoga Nidra, I specialise in Kids Yoga.

Many people (myself included) wish they were introduced to yoga at a much younger age. Seeing the amazing progress in children as young as 3 - witnessing shyness shift into soaring confidence, seeing rapid improvements in balance, coordination, and helping them to experience stillness and awareness - makes teaching yoga to kids an absolute joy.

The physical, mental and emotional benefits of yoga are incredible. From improved balance, mobility, flexibility and strength, to integrating mindful strategies to release energy and emotions stored in our bodies, yoga is literally for every body and every age group.

REMEMBER: "Yoga is not about touching your toes, it's about what you learn on the way down."

I'm definitely not a new face around Milestone FitLife but the title ‘Trainer’ sure Is. I have been a participant at MFL since they started group fitness.

I am a mother of four and enjoy keeping active with my family, whether that be at MFL classes, playing at the park and going for a run or bike ride.

I haven't always enjoyed exercise but through my own health journey I fell in love with everything health and fitness.

You will find me at most MFL classes participating, with my favorites being boxing and power circuit.

I have my Certificate III in Fitness and currently doing my Certificate IV in fitness with extra qualifications in Postnatal exercise and Boxing.

Looking forward to helping more people love and appreciate their own bodies during every life stage.
